Ameena Saiyid

Ameena Saiyid is the Managing Director of Oxford University Press Pakistan, founder and director of the Karachi and Islamabad Literature Festivals, and co-founder of both the Children’s and the Teachers’ Literature Festivals. She is the first Pakistani woman to be appointed head of a multinational in Pakistan, awarded the OBE by the Queen of England, and elected President of the 150-year-old Overseas Investors’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The OBE recognized her services to women’s rights, education, intellectual property rights, and Anglo-Pakistan relations. The government of France awarded her Knighthood (Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres) for her contribution to Arts and Literature.
